Physical Education

1st Term

1st week

We missed the first class because it was the first hour of the week and our tutors used it to  tell us more or less everything we needed to know for this year. So the during the first class we really had we read a text explaining this term’s contents after which we had to answer some questions about it.

During the first lesson Xavi told how we would take on this first term. The second lesson was used to do a resistance test, we had to run for twelve minuts and had to make as many laps as possible.

2nd week

We corrected the listening about the universe and read a text about the subject. We read a text about the same subject and made a few exercices about it. We dug into the subject about  connectors, starting with the ones we could find i the text we read earlier. We will begin with contrast and purpose connectors.

The first class of the week we did an elasticity test. I have noticed I’m much less flexible then a while ago. The secons session we did a jump test, which consisted in jumping as far as I could, and an abs test, that lasted half a minute during which we had to do as many sit-ups as we managed.

3rd week

We started on the subject of relative pronouns, and, just as with the connectors, we started with the ones we could find in the text about the universe, after which we saw the theory for defining and non-defining clauses. The last lesson the teacher was unable to assist in class, but we started the topic on the usage of too (much/many) and enough.

We talked about what our physical condition is and how we can improve it, so we did some exercises to start improving our strength, one of the parts of our condition.

4th week

The teacher wasn’t able to attend class so we made the exercices that she told us to do. We did the exam and I think it went well.

This week we had no physical education due to various reasons.

5th week

we completed a crossword puzzle with a classmate’s description of the word. The exam went well enough. So far I’ve had no problem understanding anything.

6th week

To practice our vocabulary we filled in the blanks of a few texts. We also started working with passive sentences.

We had to run a couple of laps around the school to study our hart rate. I kind of prefer physical education from last year, because it was less theoretical.

I missed the first lesson of the week and the teacher missed the second one, so I didn’t really do anything this week.

7th week

We worked on passive sentences and vocabulary.

8th week

We did the exam and I think it went well, I didn’t have any major problems.

9th week

The only lesson I attended we played hockey because there was not much time left for anything related to the contents we were supposed to see.

During the only lesson I had we did the exam, which went very well.

During this week’s session we played korfball.

We completed the listening part of the exam and started on the topic of ebola.

10th week

I didn’t have any lessons this week.

We saw and corrected some common mistakes made by students while writing an essay. We continued reading some texts on the topic of Ebola.

11th week

We read a text on some aspects of nutrition and key components of a diet, then we did some exercises about it.

12th week

We worked on verb tenses and I tried out some exercises of the first certificate Cambridge exam. Friday we did the exam and I think it went well.

2nd Term

We played “come cocos” and then we played a game of korfball. It was not bad, but I prefer basketball when it comes to balls and rings.

We did the exam and I think it went well.

1st & 2nd week

We worked on conditional sentences. I don’t have many problems doing the exercises as long as I can identify the amount of possibility the sentence expresses.

3rd week

We worked on conditional sentences and argumentative writings. I find I don’t have much to do so I get a little bit bored.

We played some games as if  we were people with disabilities. I liked the part where we had to play basketball in a wheelchair.

We did some acrobatics, making human figures.

4th & 5th week

The exam I think went quite well, not too much trouble with anything. Only the reading comprehension wasn’t all that clear.

6th week

We continued practicing human figures and then we did the test, which was alright but it could have gone a little bit more smoothly.

We learned some new vocabulary about education, which I din’t really find that interesting to do.

7th week

We made a listening exercise about food chains and learned the structure of formal letters. I’m not having too many problems with anything.

8th week

We did some exercises to practice a few of the things that would be included in the exam. Friday we did the exam and I think it went well enough.

9th week

10th week

We started doing yoga and I noticed I lost a lot of flexibility. At first I didn’t really look forward to it, but now I think it’s kind of interesting.

We did some more yoga, which started to be a little bit boring.

We played a sport similar to badminton but instead of using a racket we used something that looked like a tambourine.

We went on a ski trip.

We practiced placing connectors in the gaps of a text and classified them.

We continued playing the sport with the tambourine, but this time with tennis balls and no net. It was really difficult to play more than a couple of well placed shots.

11th week

We did a listening exercise watching a video from TED talks about someone explaining the importance of meditation. I did really have any problems understanding him.

I did the yoga exam and it was perfect.

12th week

We did a listening exercise watching a video from TED talks about someone explaining the importance of meditation. I didn't really have any problems understanding him.

I believe the exam went alright. The first part was easy enough and didn’t cause me any problems. The second part was a little more difficult but I think I did fine.

3rd Term

1st & 2nd week

I did some exercises extracted from the First Cambridge exam.

3rd week

I did the level test for the Cambridge exams and it showed that I should go for a proficiency level.

4th week

We did the exam. Some bits were a little confusing so it could have gone better.

5th week

We played a board game in groups.

6th week

We started playing volleyball, but I thought the exercises were a little bit boring.

We continue playing volleyball and I like playing practice games. I think we learn much more from them than the exercises.

We played volleyball. I like playing games in teams.

We did the exam for volleyball and it went well.

We corrected the errors in the exam.

7th week

We played a game to practice our speech.

We learned what to do in case we find someone unconscious.

8th week

We did the exam and I believe it went pretty well.

We played hockey, which was fun.

9th week

We had some study hours.

I didn’t do any PE this week.

We played a game like baseball, but with other rules.
